My passion for putting paint to canvas stems from being raised in a family of three generations of visual artists.
I'm basically self taught, benefitting from taking workshops given by well known artists and studying the work of the masters. My greatest training was as a commercial artist in St. Louis, Missouri . I gained valuable working experience in an art studio with other artists, and then as the artist in an ad agency. In 1973 my husband and I began our own freelance studio and were very busy creating and producing art for ad agencies, public relations firms, and publishers until 1998 when we moved to Florida.
I have always been involved in fine art and now teach art at the local art association and from my art studio. I paint in oil, acrylic, and watercolor and show my art in national and regional juried exhibitions, winning awards and recognition. My paintings are in many private collections in the United States.
My subject of choice is the landscape in all its majesty. There is never ending subject matter to inspire me to paint. I enjoy painting on location and in my studio from photos and my sketches. My style is realistic with a touch of impressionism. I strive to create a mood using color, light and shadows to give the viewer enjoyment.
